Sådan fik Rødhætte sit navn

How Red-Cap got her name

Danish

Der var engang en lille pige, som alle straks kom til at holde af. Ingen holdt så meget af hende som hendes bedstemor, der med glæde ville have givet hende alt, hvad hun ønskede sig. En dag fik pigen en lille hue af rødt fløjl af sin bedstemor. Den klædte hende så godt, at hun aldrig ville gå med andet.

English translation

Once upon a time there was a little girl whom everyone grew fond of at once. No one was as fond of her as her grandmother, who would gladly have given her anything she wished for. One day her grandmother gave her a little red velvet cap. It suited her so well that she never wanted to wear anything else.

Danish

Derfor begyndte alle at kalde hende Rødhætte.

English translation

That was why everyone started calling her Little Red Riding Hood.

Frequently asked questions

Are these B1 or B2 Danish stories?

Intermediate is LingoPlasty’s most detailed story band, rather than a formal B1 or B2 classification. If you study at B1 or B2, use the sample to judge the reading challenge. The same story may be available at Beginner if you prefer more support.

Can I read and listen with English translations?

Yes. The stories combine the language you are learning with English translations and scene audio. Approved opening-scene previews can be read and played without an account; the full reader lets you choose how to display the English.

Are these stories free?

Cards marked Free can be read in full with a free account. Other full stories require membership. Any sample shown on this page is free to try without signing in.

How do I choose the right difficulty?

Try an opening scene. Choose a version whose plot you can follow without checking the translation after every sentence. Move to an easier edition when reading feels tiring, or try a more detailed edition of a story you already know.
