God told Jonah, son of Amittai, to go to the great city of Nineveh. There Jonah was to speak out against the evil deeds of the city's people. God knew about these deeds.
Но Иона решил бежать от Бога в Фарсис. Он пришёл в Иоппию и нашёл корабль, который шёл в Фарсис. Иона заплатил за проезд и поднялся на корабль, чтобы уплыть вместе с моряками.
But Jonah decided to flee from God to Tarshish. He came to Joppa and found a ship going to Tarshish. Jonah paid his fare and boarded the ship to sail away with the sailors.
