Hur Rödluvan fick sitt namn

How Red-Cap got her name

Swedish

Det var en gång en liten flicka som alla genast tyckte om när de träffade henne. Allra mest höll hennes mormor av henne. Det fanns ingenting som mormor inte skulle ha gett henne. En gång gav mormor henne en liten luva av röd sammet. Den passade henne så bra att hon aldrig ville ha något annat på huvudet.

English translation

Once upon a time, there was a little girl whom everyone liked as soon as they met her. Her grandmother loved her more than anyone else did. There was nothing her grandmother would not have given her. Once, her grandmother gave her a little hood made of red velvet. It suited her so well that she never wanted to wear anything else on her head.

Swedish

Därför började alla kalla henne Rödluvan.

English translation

So everyone began to call her Little Red Riding Hood.

Frequently asked questions

Are these B1 or B2 Swedish stories?

Intermediate is LingoPlasty’s most detailed story band, rather than a formal B1 or B2 classification. If you study at B1 or B2, use the sample to judge the reading challenge. The same story may be available at Beginner if you prefer more support.

Can I read and listen with English translations?

Yes. The stories combine the language you are learning with English translations and scene audio. Approved opening-scene previews can be read and played without an account; the full reader lets you choose how to display the English.

Are these stories free?

Cards marked Free can be read in full with a free account. Other full stories require membership. Any sample shown on this page is free to try without signing in.

How do I choose the right difficulty?

Try an opening scene. Choose a version whose plot you can follow without checking the translation after every sentence. Move to an easier edition when reading feels tiring, or try a more detailed edition of a story you already know.
