En önskan om ett barn

A wish for a child

Once upon a time, there was a man and a woman who had long wished for a child. Their wish had not yet come true, but now the woman hoped that God would soon hear her. From a small window at the back of the house, they could see a garden where beautiful flowers and herbs grew.

A high wall surrounded the garden, and no one dared go inside. That was because the garden belonged to a powerful sorceress whom everyone feared.
