Armies face across the valley

Les Philistins ont réuni leurs troupes à Soco, en Juda, puis dressé leur camp entre Soco et Azéka, à Éphès-Dammim. De son côté, Saül a rassemblé les hommes d’Israël dans la vallée d’Éla pour leur faire face. Chaque armée occupait une montagne ; entre elles s’étendait la vallée où allait se jouer l’affrontement.

The Philistines gathered their troops at Socoh, in Judah, then set up camp between Socoh and Azekah, at Ephes-dammim. Meanwhile, Saul gathered the men of Israel in the Valley of Elah to face them. Each army occupied a mountain; between them lay the valley where the clash would take place.
