God spoke to Jonah, son of Amittai: “Get ready and go to the great city of Nineveh. Warn the people there, for their wickedness has reached me.”
Jona gjorde seg klar, men han ville flykte fra Gud. I Jaffa fant han et skip som skulle seile til Tarsis. Han betalte for reisen og gikk om bord for å seile med mannskapet til Tarsis, langt bort fra Gud.
Jonah got ready, but he wanted to flee from God. In Joppa he found a ship bound for Tarshish. He paid for the passage and went aboard to sail with the crew to Tarshish, far away from God.
