Reven smigrer kråka

The fox flatters the crow

English translation

A fox saw a crow with a piece of cheese in her beak. She landed on a branch, and the fox went over to the tree. He wanted the cheese.

English translation

“Good day, Mrs. Crow! What lovely, shiny feathers you have!” he called out. He said she was more beautiful than the other birds and that she surely sang better than they did, too.

English translation

“Sing me a song, and I’ll call you the queen of the birds.”
