A róka hízeleg a varjúnak
The fox flatters the crow
Hungarian
Egy róka meglátott egy varjút. A madár egy darab sajtot tartott a csőrében, és egy fa ágára szállt. A róka meg akarta szerezni a sajtot, ezért odament a fa alá.
English translation
A fox saw a crow. The bird held a piece of cheese in its beak and landed on a tree branch. The fox wanted to get the cheese, so it went under the tree.
Hungarian
– Jó napot, Varjú asszony! – kiáltotta. – Milyen szép ma! Fényes a tolla, és ragyog a szeme!
English translation
“Good day, Mrs. Crow!” the fox called. “How beautiful you are today! Your feathers are shiny, and your eyes sparkle!”
Hungarian
A róka tovább dicsérte a varjút. Azt mondta, hogy biztosan a hangja is szebb, mint a többi madáré.
English translation
The fox went on praising the crow, saying that her voice was surely more beautiful than the other birds’ voices, too.
Hungarian
– Kérem, énekeljen nekem egy dalt! Akkor önt nevezhetem a madarak királynőjének!
English translation
“Please sing me a song! Then I can call you the queen of the birds!”
