Żona bogatego człowieka ciężko zachorowała. Przed śmiercią zawołała swoją jedyną córkę i powiedziała: – Bądź dobra i pobożna, moje dziecko. Dobry Bóg będzie cię chronił, a ja będę patrzeć na ciebie z nieba i zawsze będę przy tobie.
The wife of a rich man became seriously ill. Before she died, she called her only daughter and said: “Be good and devout, my child. The good Lord will protect you, and I will watch over you from heaven and always be by your side.”
Potem matka zamknęła oczy i umarła. Dziewczyna codziennie chodziła na jej grób i płakała. Nadal była dobra i modliła się do Boga. Zimą grób przykrył śnieg. Kiedy przyszła wiosna, ojciec miał już nową żonę.
Then the mother closed her eyes and died. The girl went to her grave every day and cried. She remained good and prayed to God. In winter, snow covered the grave. When spring came, her father already had a new wife.
