Scene 1 · Beginner
A rich man's wife became very ill. When she realized she was going to die, she called her only daughter to her bedside.
— Minha querida, seja boa e tenha fé em Deus. Ele vai proteger você. Eu vou olhar por você lá do céu e estarei sempre por perto.
“My dear, be good and have faith in God. He will protect you. I will watch over you from heaven and always be nearby.”
After saying these words, the mother closed her eyes and died. Her daughter went to her grave every day to cry and pray. Even though she was sad, she continued to be good.
No inverno, a neve cobriu o túmulo.
In winter, snow covered the grave. When spring came and the snow melted, the father was already married to another woman.
