Scene 1 · Beginner
Soția unui om bogat s-a îmbolnăvit grav. Când a simțit că va muri curând, a chemat-o lângă pat pe singura ei fiică.
A rich man’s wife became seriously ill. When she felt she would die soon, she called her only daughter to her bedside.
“My dear, be kind and faithful. Then God will always protect you, and I will watch over you from heaven and stay close to you.”
Then the mother closed her eyes and died. The girl went to her grave every day and wept. She stayed kind and faithful, just as her mother had asked her to.
Iarna, zăpada a acoperit mormântul.
In winter, snow covered the grave. By spring, when the snow melted, the girl’s father had remarried.
