Zając rzuca żółwiowi wyzwanie

The Hare challenges the Tortoise

English translation

Once, a hare was telling the other animals how fast he could run. He bragged that no one had ever beaten him when he ran at full speed. He challenged anyone who wanted to race him.

Polish

– Ja się z tobą zmierzę – powiedział spokojnie żółw.

English translation

“I’ll race you,” said the turtle calmly.

Polish

Zając uznał to za żart. Był pewny, że pobiegnie dużo szybciej od żółwia.

English translation

The hare thought it was a joke. He was sure he would run much faster than the turtle.

Polish

– Najpierw mnie pokonaj, a potem się chwal – odpowiedział żółw. – Ścigamy się?

English translation

“Beat me first, then brag,” the turtle replied. “Shall we race?”

Polish

Wybrano trasę wyścigu. Potem zając i żółw ruszyli.

English translation

They chose the race route. Then the hare and the turtle set off.
