Der Hase erzählt den anderen Tieren, wie schnell er ist. Darauf ist er sehr stolz. „Wenn ich richtig schnell laufe, hat mich noch niemand geschlagen“, sagt er. „Wer will gegen mich um die Wette laufen?“
The hare tells the other animals how fast he is. He is very proud of it. “When I run really fast, no one has ever beaten me,” he says. “Who wants to race me?”
„Ich“, antwortet die Schildkröte ruhig.
“I will,” the tortoise replies calmly.
Der Hase lacht über sie. Für ihn ist das ein Witz, denn er ist viel schneller als die Schildkröte.
The hare laughs at her. To him, it’s a joke, because he is much faster than the tortoise.
„Du musst erst gegen mich gewinnen“, sagt sie. „Danach kannst du erzählen, wie gut du bist. Wollen wir jetzt laufen?“
“You have to beat me first,” she says. “Then you can tell everyone how good you are. Shall we race now?”
