Scene 1 · Intermediate
Long ago, there lived a king and queen who longed to have a child. Every day, they would say: “Oh, if only we had a child!”
But so far, their wish had not come true.
One day, while the queen was bathing, a frog came out of the water, crawled onto the land, and said to her: “Your wish will come true. Before a year has passed, you will have a daughter.”
