Scene 1 · Intermediate
Dawno temu żyli król i królowa, którzy bardzo pragnęli mieć dziecko. Każdego dnia powtarzali: „Ach, gdybyśmy tylko mieli dziecko!”. Ich życzenie długo pozostawało jednak niespełnione.
Long ago, there lived a king and queen who dearly wished for a child. Every day they would say, “Oh, if only we had a child!” But their wish remained unfulfilled for a long time.
Pewnego razu, kiedy królowa się kąpała, z wody wypełzła żaba. Wyszła na ląd i odezwała się do królowej: – Twoje życzenie się spełni. Zanim minie rok, będziesz miała córkę.
One day, while the queen was bathing, a frog crawled out of the water. It came onto the shore and spoke to the queen: “Your wish will come true. Before a year is out, you will have a daughter.”
