Lang geleden leefde er een koning met mooie dochters. Het was een tijd waarin wensen nog konden uitkomen. Zijn jongste dochter was de mooiste van allemaal.
Long ago, there lived a king who had beautiful daughters. It was a time when wishes could still come true. His youngest daughter was the most beautiful of them all.
Dicht bij het kasteel lag een groot, donker bos. Daar stond een oude boom met een put eronder. Op warme dagen ging de prinses bij de koele put zitten. Als ze zich verveelde, speelde ze met haar gouden bal. Ze gooide hem omhoog en ving hem weer op. De bal was haar lievelingsspeelgoed.
Near the castle lay a large, dark forest. There stood an old tree with a well beneath it. On warm days, the princess would sit by the cool well. When she was bored, she played with her golden ball. She tossed it up and caught it again. The ball was her favorite toy.
