Hace mucho tiempo vivía un rey con sus hijas. Todas eran hermosas, pero la menor era la más hermosa de todas. Cerca del castillo había un gran bosque y, debajo de un viejo árbol, un pozo de agua.
A long time ago, a king lived with his daughters. They were all beautiful, but the youngest was the most beautiful of all. Near the castle was a large forest and, beneath an old tree, a well.
Cuando hacía calor, la princesa iba a sentarse junto al pozo para estar fresca. Allí jugaba con su juguete favorito: una pelota de oro. La lanzaba al aire y la atrapaba una y otra vez.
When it was hot, the princess went to sit beside the well to keep cool. There she played with her favorite toy: a golden ball. She tossed it into the air and caught it again and again.
