Sorrow in Gethsemane

English translation

Jesus arrived with his disciples at Gethsemane. He asked them to sit there while he went a little farther to pray. He took Peter and the two sons of Zebedee with him. He was overcome with sorrow and great anguish.

English translation

“My soul is so sorrowful that I feel as if I am dying,” he told them. “Stay here and stay awake with me.”
