Un giorno un contadino va al nido della sua oca e trova un uovo giallo e brillante. Quando lo prende in mano, sente che è molto pesante. Pensa che sia uno scherzo e sta per buttarlo via. Poi però cambia idea e porta l'uovo a casa.
One day, a farmer goes to his goose’s nest and finds a shiny yellow egg. When he picks it up, he feels how heavy it is. He thinks it’s a joke and is about to throw it away. But then he changes his mind and takes the egg home.
Poco dopo scopre con grande gioia che l'uovo è d'oro puro. Da quel giorno, ogni mattina trova un altro uovo d'oro nel nido. Vende le uova e presto diventa ricco.
A little later, he discovers with great joy that the egg is pure gold. From that day on, every morning he finds another golden egg in the nest. He sells the eggs and soon becomes rich.
