Um dia, um camponês foi ao ninho de sua gansa e encontrou um ovo amarelo e brilhante. Ele pegou o ovo e sentiu que era muito pesado. Achou que era uma brincadeira de alguém e quase jogou o ovo fora. Mas pensou melhor e levou o ovo para casa.
English translation
One day, a farmer went to his goose’s nest and found a yellow, shiny egg. He picked up the egg and felt that it was very heavy. He thought it was someone’s prank and almost threw the egg away. But he thought better of it and took the egg home.

Lá, descobriu que o ovo era de ouro puro e ficou muito feliz. Todas as manhãs, a gansa botava outro ovo de ouro. O camponês vendia os ovos e logo ficou rico.
English translation
There, he discovered that the egg was pure gold and was very happy. Every morning, the goose laid another golden egg. The farmer sold the eggs and soon became rich.
