Hvordan Rødhette fikk navnet sitt

How Red-Cap got her name

Norwegian

Det var en gang en liten jente som alle ble glad i så snart de så henne. Ingen var så glad i henne som bestemoren, som ville ha gitt henne hva som helst. En dag ga bestemoren henne en liten hette av rød fløyel. Den kledde jenta så godt at hun aldri ville ha noe annet på hodet.

English translation

Once upon a time there was a little girl whom everyone loved as soon as they saw her. No one loved her as much as her grandmother, who would have given her anything. One day her grandmother gave her a little hood made of red velvet. It suited the girl so well that she never wanted to wear anything else on her head.

Norwegian

Slik fikk hun navnet Rødhette.

English translation

That was how she got the name Little Red Riding Hood.

Frequently asked questions

Are these B1 or B2 Norwegian stories?

Intermediate is LingoPlasty’s most detailed story band, rather than a formal B1 or B2 classification. If you study at B1 or B2, use the sample to judge the reading challenge. The same story may be available at Beginner if you prefer more support.

Can I read and listen with English translations?

Yes. The stories combine the language you are learning with English translations and scene audio. Approved opening-scene previews can be read and played without an account; the full reader lets you choose how to display the English.

Are these stories free?

Cards marked Free can be read in full with a free account. Other full stories require membership. Any sample shown on this page is free to try without signing in.

How do I choose the right difficulty?

Try an opening scene. Choose a version whose plot you can follow without checking the translation after every sentence. Move to an easier edition when reading feels tiring, or try a more detailed edition of a story you already know.
