The coat of many colors
English translation
Jacob, also called Israel, lived in Canaan. His son Joseph was seventeen years old and tended the livestock with his brothers. One day, Joseph told his father bad things about them.
English translation
Jacob loved Joseph more than his other sons because Joseph had been born when Jacob was already old. So he made him a many-colored robe. The brothers could see that their father favored Joseph, and they hated him. They could not even speak to him in a friendly way.
