A tarka köntös

The coat of many colors

Hungarian

Jákob, akit Izraelnek is neveztek, Kánaán földjén élt.

English translation

Jacob, who was also called Israel, lived in the land of Canaan. Joseph, one of his sons, was seventeen years old. He looked after the animals with his brothers and brought their father bad reports about them.

English translation

Jacob loved Joseph more than any of his other children because he was already old when the boy was born. He made him a colorful robe. His brothers saw that their father loved him best. Because of this, they hated Joseph and could not speak kindly to him.
