La túnica de muchos colores
The coat of many colors
English translation
Jacob, also called Israel, lived in Canaan. His son Joseph was seventeen years old and tended the flock with his brothers, including the sons of Bilhah and Zilpah, Jacob’s wives. Joseph told his father bad things about them.
English translation
Jacob loved him more than his other sons because he had been born when Jacob was already an old man. He made him a many-colored robe. His brothers saw that their father favored Joseph, and they began to hate him. They could no longer speak kindly to him.
