The coat of many colors
English translation
Jacob lived in Canaan, the land where his father had also lived. He was also called Israel. His son Joseph was seventeen years old. He looked after the animals together with his brothers. Among those brothers were the sons of Bilhah and Zilpah, two of Jacob’s wives. Joseph told their father bad things about his brothers.
English translation
Jacob loved Joseph more than his other children because he was already old when Joseph was born. He made him a tunic, a long garment with many colors. The brothers saw that their father loved Joseph the most. So they hated Joseph and never spoke kindly to him.
