Scene 1 · Beginner

En travl myre om sommeren

A busy ant in summer

English translation

One summer day, a grasshopper hopped around a field and sang. An ant came by carrying an ear of grain. It was hard for the ant to carry it all the way home to the other ants.

Danish

»Hvorfor arbejder du så hårdt? Kom og snak med mig,« sagde græshoppen.

English translation

“Why are you working so hard? Come and talk to me,” said the grasshopper.

English translation

“I’m helping gather food for the winter,” replied the ant. “You should do that too.”

English translation

“Why think about winter? We have plenty of food right now!” said the grasshopper. But the ant kept going with its ear of grain.
