An einem Sommertag hüpfte eine Heuschrecke über ein Feld und sang. Eine Ameise kam vorbei. Sie trug eine Getreideähre zu ihrem Nest. An der Ähre waren Körner, und das Tragen war schwere Arbeit.
On a summer day, a grasshopper hopped across a field and sang. An ant came by. She was carrying an ear of grain to her nest. There were grains on the ear, and carrying it was hard work.
„Komm doch zu mir und rede ein bisschen mit mir“, sagte die Heuschrecke. „Warum arbeitest du so schwer?“
“Come over here and chat with me for a while,” said the grasshopper. “Why are you working so hard?”
„Ich helfe, Essen für den Winter zu sammeln“, antwortete die Ameise. „Das solltest du auch tun.“
“I’m helping gather food for the winter,” the ant replied. “You should do that too.”
Die Heuschrecke wollte sich noch nicht um den Winter kümmern. Jetzt gab es doch genug zu essen. Aber die Ameise ging weiter und arbeitete trotz der Mühe weiter.
The grasshopper did not want to worry about winter yet. There was enough to eat now, after all. But the ant kept going and kept working despite the effort.
