Scene 1 · Beginner

O furnică ocupată în timpul verii

A busy ant in summer

English translation

One summer day, a grasshopper was hopping across a field and singing. An ant passed by. She was struggling to carry an ear of grain toward the anthill, the ants’ home.

English translation

“Why don’t you stop and talk with me for a while?” the grasshopper asked. “Why are you working so hard?”

English translation

“I’m helping gather food for the winter,” the ant replied. “It would be a good idea for you to gather food too.”

English translation

The grasshopper didn’t think she needed to think about winter. They had enough food now, so she wasn’t worried. But the ant continued on her way and kept working.
