Scene 1 · Beginner

En travel maur om sommeren

A busy ant in summer

English translation

One summer day, a grasshopper hopped around a field and sang. An ant came by carrying a stalk of grain. It was heavy, but the ant carried it home to the other ants.

Norwegian

«Hvorfor jobber du så hardt? Kom og snakk med meg!» sa gresshoppen.

English translation

“Why are you working so hard? Come and talk to me!” said the grasshopper.

Norwegian

«Vi samler mat til vinteren», svarte mauren. «Det bør du også gjøre.»

English translation

“We’re gathering food for the winter,” replied the ant. “You should do that too.”

English translation

The grasshopper saw no reason to think about winter. After all, there was enough food in the field now. The ant went on its way and kept working.
