Æslet drager til Bremen

The donkey leaves for Bremen

English translation

For many years, a donkey had carried sacks of grain to the mill for his owner. But as the donkey grew weaker, he could no longer do the work as he used to. So his owner began to wonder how he could get out of paying for the donkey’s feed. The donkey sensed danger and ran away down the road toward Bremen.

English translation

“I can probably become a town musician there,” he thought.
