Scene 1 · Intermediate

God forms Adam from dust

English translation

This is the story of the heavens and the earth, from the time God created them. No plants had yet appeared in the fields, nor had any grass sprung up on the earth. God had not yet sent rain, and there was no one to cultivate the soil. Yet a mist rose from the earth and watered its entire surface.

English translation

Then God formed the man, Adam, from the dust of the earth. He breathed the breath of life into his nostrils, and the man became a living creature.
