The coat of many colors
English translation
Jacob, who was also called Israel, lived in Canaan. His son Joseph was seventeen years old and tended the flock with his brothers. Joseph told his father bad things about his brothers.
English translation
Jacob loved Joseph more than his other children because Joseph was born when Jacob was already old. Jacob even made him a colorful robe, a long garment. Joseph’s brothers saw how much their father loved him, and they hated Joseph. They could not speak kindly to him.
