La esposa de un hombre rico cayó enferma. Al sentir que se acercaba su muerte, llamó a su única hija junto a la cama.
The wife of a rich man fell ill. Feeling that death was near, she called her only daughter to her bedside.
«Hija querida, sé buena y piadosa. Así, el buen Dios siempre te protegerá. Yo te miraré desde el cielo y estaré cerca de ti».
“Dear daughter, be good and devout. Then the good Lord will always protect you. I will watch over you from heaven and be close to you.”
Después cerró los ojos y murió. La joven visitaba su tumba todos los días y lloraba por ella. A pesar de su tristeza, siguió siendo buena y mantuvo su fe en Dios. En invierno, la nieve cubrió la tumba como una sábana blanca. Cuando el sol de primavera la derritió, su padre ya se había casado con otra mujer.
After that, she closed her eyes and died. The young woman visited her grave every day and wept for her. Despite her sadness, she remained good and kept her faith in God. In winter, snow covered the grave like a white sheet. When the spring sun melted it, her father had already married another woman.
