Räven och storken brukade hälsa på varandra och verkade vara goda vänner. En dag bjöd räven storken på middag. Räven ville skämta med henne och serverade lite soppa på ett grunt fat. Räven kunde lätt slicka i sig soppan. Storken kunde bara doppa spetsen av sin långa näbb i soppan, så hon var fortfarande hungrig efter middagen.
English translation
The fox and the stork used to visit each other and seemed to be good friends. One day, the fox invited the stork to dinner. The fox wanted to play a joke on her and served some soup on a shallow dish. The fox could easily lick up the soup. The stork could only dip the tip of her long beak into the soup, so she was still hungry after dinner.

English translation
“What a pity you don't like the soup,” said the fox.

”Du behöver inte be om ursäkt”, sa storken. ”Men jag hoppas att du snart vill äta middag hos mig.”

“You don't need to apologize,” said the stork. “But I hope you'll come to dinner at my place soon.”
