English translation
One warm summer day, a fox walked through an orchard. He spotted a bunch of grapes. The grapes hung high up on a vine and were ripening.
Danish
»De druer vil jeg gerne spise. Jeg er så tørstig,« sagde ræven.
English translation
“I’d like to eat those grapes. I’m so thirsty,” said the fox.
Danish
Han gik nogle skridt tilbage, løb frem og sprang. Han var tæt på, men han kunne ikke nå druerne. Så gik han tilbage igen. Han talte til tre og sprang endnu en gang. Druerne hang stadig for højt.
English translation
He took a few steps back, ran forward, and jumped. He came close, but he couldn’t reach the grapes. Then he went back again. He counted to three and jumped once more. The grapes were still hanging too high.
