Lis skacze, by dosięgnąć winogron

The fox jumps for the grapes

Polish

Pewnego gorącego letniego dnia lis chodził po sadzie. Zobaczył winogrona, które właśnie dojrzewały. Wisiały wysoko na gałęzi.

English translation

One hot summer day, a fox was walking around an orchard. He saw some grapes that were just ripening. They hung high on a branch.

Polish

– Chce mi się pić. Chcę zjeść te winogrona – powiedział lis.

English translation

“I’m thirsty. I want to eat those grapes,” said the fox.

English translation

He stepped back a few paces, ran, and jumped. He almost reached the grapes, but couldn’t grab them. He went back to his spot and counted: “One, two, three.” Then he jumped again, but he couldn’t reach the fruit this time either.
