Par une chaude journée d'été, un renard se promenait dans un verger, un jardin planté d'arbres fruitiers. Il a aperçu une grappe de raisin qui commençait à mûrir. La vigne poussait le long d'une branche haute.
On a hot summer day, a fox was walking through an orchard, a garden planted with fruit trees. He spotted a bunch of grapes that was beginning to ripen. The vine was growing along a high branch.
« Ces raisins vont calmer ma soif », a-t-il dit.
“These grapes will quench my thirst,” he said.
Il a reculé de quelques pas pour prendre de la vitesse, puis il a sauté. Il a presque touché la grappe, mais il l'a manquée. Il a recommencé en comptant « Un, deux, trois ! », sans réussir davantage.
He stepped back a few paces to get up speed, then jumped. He almost touched the bunch, but missed it. He tried again, counting, “One, two, three!” but still didn’t succeed.
