Scene 1 · Beginner

Vulpea sare după struguri

The fox jumps for the grapes

English translation

On a very hot summer day, a fox was walking among the trees in an orchard. She saw a bunch of grapes that were beginning to ripen. The grapes were on a vine growing over a high branch.

English translation

“These grapes are just the thing to quench my thirst!” said the fox.

Romanian

S-a dus câțiva pași înapoi, a alergat și a sărit spre struguri. Aproape că i-a atins, dar nu a reușit să-i prindă. S-a întors și a numărat: — Unu, doi, trei!

English translation

She went a few steps back, ran, and jumped toward the grapes. She almost touched them, but she couldn't catch them. She turned around and counted: “One, two, three!”

English translation

She jumped again, but she didn't reach the grapes this time either.
