Op een hete zomerdag liep een vos door een boomgaard. Hij zag een tros druiven aan een wijnstok. De plant groeide over een hoge tak, en de druiven begonnen net rijp te worden. De vos had dorst en wilde de druiven graag hebben.
On a hot summer day, a fox walked through an orchard. He saw a bunch of grapes on a vine. The vine had grown over a high branch, and the grapes were just beginning to ripen. The fox was thirsty and wanted the grapes badly.
Hij ging een paar stappen achteruit, rende naar de druiven en sprong omhoog. Hij kon er bijna bij, maar miste de tros. Hij liep weer terug en probeerde het nog een keer. Ook nu kon hij niet bij de druiven komen.
He took a few steps back, ran toward the grapes, and jumped up. He almost reached them, but missed the bunch. He went back and tried once more. Again, he couldn’t reach the grapes.
