In una calda giornata d'estate, una volpe cammina tra gli alberi da frutto. Vede un grappolo d'uva che sta cominciando a maturare. Il grappolo si trova su una vite che cresce sopra un ramo alto.
On a hot summer day, a fox walks among the fruit trees. It sees a bunch of grapes that is beginning to ripen. The bunch is on a vine growing over a high branch.
«Quest'uva è proprio quello che mi serve per la sete», dice la volpe.
“These grapes are just what I need to quench my thirst,” says the fox.
Fa qualche passo indietro, corre verso la vite e salta. Per poco non raggiunge il grappolo. Allora torna indietro e conta: «Uno, due, tre!» Poi salta di nuovo, ma anche questa volta non riesce a prendere l'uva.
It takes a few steps back, runs toward the vine, and jumps. It almost reaches the bunch. Then it goes back and counts: “One, two, three!” Then it jumps again, but this time it can’t get the grapes either.
