Scene 1 · Beginner

The Sea King's castle

English translation

Far out in the ocean, the water was blue and clear, and the sea was very deep. Down there lived the Sea King and his people. Strange flowers and plants grew on the seabed. Their leaves moved with the water, and fish both large and small swam among them.

English translation

In the deepest place stood the king’s castle. It had coral walls and tall, transparent amber windows. On the roof were shells that opened and closed with the movement of the water. Inside each shell shone a beautiful pearl.
