Muy lejos de la costa, el mar era azul y transparente. Era tan profundo que muchas torres de iglesia, una encima de otra, no llegarían del fondo a la superficie. Allí vivían el rey del Mar y su pueblo.
Far from the shore, the sea was blue and clear. It was so deep that many church towers stacked one on top of another would not reach from the bottom to the surface. The Sea King and his people lived there.
En el fondo crecían plantas y flores que se movían con el agua. Los peces nadaban entre sus ramas. En la parte más profunda estaba el castillo del rey, con paredes de coral, ventanas de ámbar y un techo de conchas. Cada concha guardaba una perla brillante.
Plants and flowers grew on the sea floor, swaying with the water. Fish swam among their branches. In the deepest part stood the king’s castle, with coral walls, amber windows, and a roof of shells. Each shell held a shining pearl.
