Scene 1 · Beginner

A császár rajong az új ruhákért

The emperor loves new clothes

English translation

Long ago, there lived an emperor who loved new clothes. He spent all his money on clothes because he always wanted to dress well. He had no interest in his soldiers or the theater. He only liked riding in his carriage so he could show off his new clothes.

English translation

He wore a different coat every hour of the day. He spent a lot of time in his dressing room. If someone was looking for him, people often said, “The emperor is in his dressing room.”
