Scene 1 · Beginner
Kejsaren älskar nya kläder
The emperor loves new clothes
English translation
Long ago, there lived an emperor who loved new clothes. He spent all his money buying them. He cared neither about his soldiers nor about the theater. What he liked best was to go out in his carriage to show off his new clothes.
English translation
The emperor had a coat for every hour of the day. When someone asked where he was, the answer was usually: “He is in the room where he keeps his clothes.”
