Havkongens slott
The Sea King's castle
English translation
Far out at sea, the water is as blue as a cornflower and as clear as crystal. But it is so deep that even a whole row of church towers, stacked one on top of another, would not reach from the bottom to the surface. The Sea King and his people live down there.
English translation
Flowers and plants grow on the seabed and sway at the slightest movement of the water. Fish glide among the branches like birds among the trees on land. The Sea King’s castle stands at the deepest point, with walls of coral and long windows of clear amber. On the roof, seashells open and close in the current.
English translation
Inside every shell lies a pearl fit to adorn a queen’s crown.
