English translation
In ancient times, when wishing still did some good, there lived a king whose daughters were all beautiful. The youngest, however, was so beautiful that even the sun, which had seen so many things, was amazed whenever it shone on her face.

Cerca del castillo se extendía un gran bosque oscuro. Allí, bajo un viejo tilo, había un pozo. En los días de mucho calor, la princesa iba a sentarse junto a sus aguas frescas. Cuando se aburría, sacaba su juguete favorito, una pelota de oro, y se entretenía lanzándola muy alto y atrapándola.
English translation
Near the castle stretched a great, dark forest. There, beneath an old linden tree, stood a well. On very hot days, the princess would go and sit beside its cool water. When she got bored, she would take out her favorite toy, a golden ball, and amuse herself by tossing it high in the air and catching it.
