Porslinspalatset
The porcelain palace
English translation
In China, the emperor and everyone at his court were Chinese, as you know. This happened so long ago that it is best to tell the story now, before it is forgotten.
English translation
The emperor had the most beautiful palace in the world. It was built entirely of precious porcelain, so delicate that anyone who touched it had to be careful. The most unusual flowers grew in the garden, and little silver bells had been tied to them. When the bells rang, no one could pass by without noticing the flowers.
English translation
The garden was full of such wonders, and it stretched so far that not even the gardener knew where it ended.
