Porcelanowy pałac

The porcelain palace

English translation

Long ago in China, there lived an emperor whose palace was the most beautiful in the world. Both he and everyone at his court were Chinese. This story is worth telling before such distant events fade from memory.

English translation

The entire palace was built of porcelain. It had cost a fortune, and it was so fragile that even its walls had to be touched carefully. Extraordinary flowers with little silver bells grew in the garden. Their sound caught the attention of passersby, so no one could walk past the flowers without noticing them. The garden stretched so far that even the gardener did not know where it ended.
