El palacio de porcelana

The porcelain palace

English translation

This story took place in China many, many years ago. It is worth telling now, before it is forgotten. The emperor owned the most beautiful palace in the world, made entirely of porcelain. It had cost a fortune, but it was so fragile that it had to be touched with the greatest care.

English translation

Extraordinary flowers grew in the garden. Little silver bells were tied to them, jingling to attract the attention of people passing by. Everything there was astonishing, even its size: not even the gardener himself knew where the garden ended.
