Wielobarwna tunika
The coat of many colors
English translation
Jacob, also called Israel, lived in the land of Canaan, where his father had lived before him. His son Joseph was seventeen years old and tended the flock with his brothers, including the sons of Bilhah and Zilpah, Jacob’s wives. He told his father about his brothers’ bad behavior.
English translation
Israel loved Joseph more than his other children because he had been born to him in his old age. He had a many-colored tunic made for him. His brothers could see their father’s special love for Joseph. They hated him so much that they could not even speak to him in a friendly way.
